Kidapawan City, Philippines—September 26, 2025. The Makilala Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) actively participated in an orientation on Internationalization and Global Rankings, spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office XII, held at Mahogany Hall, Sudapin Coffee, Kidapawan City. The activity aimed to enhance institutional awareness and strengthen readiness for global competitiveness in alignment with CHED’s Internationalization (IZN) agenda.

The event began with a comprehensive discussion by Mr. Janreve M. Odango, LPT, Project Technical Staff II, who tackled Internationalization and Global Rankings. He highlighted the CHED IZN Roadmap and elaborated on the requirements of global ranking systems, including the Times Higher Education (THE) and the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI).
Mr. Danstone Guy P. Dayaday, Education Supervisor II and IZN Focal Person, delivered insights on “Anchoring Internationalization in Institutional Strategy.” His discussion emphasized CHED’s 7-point agenda under the ACHIEVE framework, serving as a roadmap for higher education institutions to embed internationalization into their long-term strategies.

Dr. Genaro “Bong” R. Andres, Supervising Education Program Specialist, provided practical guidance on preparations for the upcoming OIQAG inspection. His presentation underscored the importance of compliance in key areas such as the Campus Master Plan/Site Development, school infrastructure, faculty profiles, and faculty qualifications.
Lastly, Dr. Zohrahaydah N. Panawidan, Chief Education Program Specialist, delivered updates on the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) requirements, which include the removal of Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS), the construction of additional classrooms and laboratories, and the hiring of plantilla faculty members to strengthen educational quality.
