MIST Joins Region-wide Workshop on CHED Sports Policies and R.A. 11180

The Makilala Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) participated in the Region-wide Workshop on CHED Sports Policies and R.A. 11180 (Athletic Sports Report Act): Strengthening Alignment of the Tertiary Sports Development Programs with CHED Standards and National Sports Goals for AY 2025–2026, held on October 28, 2025, at the Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges, 4th Floor, EMR Theater, General Santos City.

The event was spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office XII through its Sports Unit. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of policy frameworks, implementation strategies, and developmental opportunities under the relevant CHED Memorandum Orders.

Several important topics were discussed, including the Community Sports and Wellness Grant, Tertiary Sports Development Program, and the Athletic Sports Report Act. These insightful discussions emphasized the integration of athletic excellence with academic growth among tertiary students.

MIST was proudly represented by Mr. Jeffrey S. Frasco, Sports Coordinator, who actively participated in the discussions. This engagement reinforces the institution’s continued commitment to advancing sports development and promoting excellence through athletics.
