December 16, 2025 — The Makilala Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) participated in the Youth Peer Advocates Camp for Drug-Free and Mentally Healthy Campuses, an initiative of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XII (CHEDRO XII), held at the GSX Convention Center in Koronadal City.

The institution was proudly represented by the Student Council President, Leonel V. Manalo, under the guidance and supervision of the Student Council Moderator, Rodel James M. Nasis, LPT, M.A.

Participation in this CHEDRO XII–initiated activity strengthened MIST’s commitment to fostering student well-being, promoting mental health awareness, and sustaining a drug-free learning environment. The camp provided student leaders with essential knowledge, leadership competencies, and peer advocacy strategies, empowering them to become effective role models and advocates within the campus community.
This engagement further affirms MIST’s dedication to holistic student development and its continued collaboration with partner institutions in building resilient, mentally healthy, and drug-free higher education campuses.
