Makilala, Cotabato—The Makilala Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) proudly joins the Palarong Panlungsod 2026 – Volleyball Tournament (College Category) held on February 10, 2026, in Kidapawan City as part of the city’s 28th Charter Anniversary Celebration.

The invitation was extended by the PPVT Technical Working Group in coordination with the City Mayor’s Office, recognizing MIST as one of the participating higher education institutions in the men’s and women’s volleyball categories.
Through the support of School President Dr. Gerardo A. Rigonan and Sports Coordinator Mr. Jeffrey S. Frasco, the institution formally confirmed its participation in the prestigious city-wide sporting event.


Leading the MIST Volleyball Teams are Coach John Mark Himalla for the Men’s Team and Coach Marvin Castañeda for the Women’s Team. Serving as team captains are John Mark Duyag (Men’s Division) and Janelle Resuena (Women’s Division), who are set to guide their teammates with determination and sportsmanship on the court.
MIST’s participation in the Palarong Panlungsod reflects the institution’s commitment to holistic education, developing students not only academically but also physically, socially, and emotionally. By engaging in intercollegiate sports competitions, MIST strengthens its linkages and partnerships with local government units and other educational institutions, fostering collaboration beyond campus boundaries.
