MIST Clinches Overall 3rd Runner-Up at CoPPANet 2026, Wins Multiple Major Awards

Kabacan, Cotabato—The Makilala Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) proudly emerged as the Overall 3rd Runner-Up during the Cotabato Province Public Administration Network (CoPPANet) 2026, held on February 20–21, 2026, at the University of Southern Mindanao in Kabacan, Cotabato.

Competing alongside leading higher education institutions in the province, MIST delivered an impressive performance across academic, leadership, and cultural events, demonstrating excellence in both intellect and talent.

Among the major recognitions received were:

  • Mr. Public Service Ambassador – Leonel V. Manalo
  • Ms. Ambassador for Advocacy – Cielo E. Manalop
  • Champion – Mixed Volleyball Tournament
  • Champion—Hip-Hop Dance Competition
  • Champion – HackGov
  • Champion and 3rd Place – Vocal Solo Competition
  • 2nd Place – Public Policy Debate Competition
  • 4th Place – Quiz Bowl
  • 5th Place – Public Policy Analysis

These outstanding achievements highlight MIST’s commitment to excellence in public administration, leadership, and civic engagement. Beyond the awards, the competition served as a platform for students to demonstrate their competence in governance, policy-making, innovation, and community-oriented service.

The institution extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Reynaldo Oblad, MIST Public Administration Program Head, for his leadership and guidance, as well as to the dedicated coaches and student participants whose hard work and preparation contributed to this remarkable success.

CoPPANet, a strategic alliance of four higher education institutions in Cotabato Province, was established to strengthen instruction, research, extension services, academic leadership, and policy engagement in Public Administration. More than a network, it represents a collaborative commitment to nurturing ethical, competent, and socially responsive public servants who will help shape a more innovative and resilient province.

Through its strong showing at CoPPANet 2026, MIST once again demonstrated that it is not only an academic institution but also a dynamic force in leadership, service, and community development.
